These work pretty good.
I’ll start by saying this: when it comes to pet supplements, you really can’t form an honest opinion without time and consistency. My cats have been using this digestive enzyme powder for a full month now, consistently, and that’s the only reason I feel comfortable reviewing it.They actually get excited when I add this to their food, which surprised me. It doesn’t have a strong or offensive smell, and they seem to enjoy it. Since starting this, I’ve noticed they’ve gained a little weight and they’re drinking more water than they did before — both of which feel like positive signs in my home. Now for the honest annoyances:The scoop has no designated spot in the lid, so it constantly gets buried in the powder. I really dislike digging around in there trying to find it like it’s an archaeological project. On top of that, the powder doesn’t come out of the scoop super easily, so you do have to tap it and make sure you sprinkle it evenly across the food rather than dumping it in one clump.Overall, I think this is a solid and helpful product. It seems gentle, effective, and my cats respond well to it. I just really wish the scoop situation was designed better.
To be honest, I'm really not sure what I think. My dogs both have allergies and I have tried a number of options, some quite expensive with the hope that their skin and stomach issues would resolve.Recently, a holistic doctor I listen to stated that most probiotic products don't do much for balancing the stomach microbiome. He mentioned two that were actually good, however, those ingredients are seldom included in human or animal probiotic products. I am not sure how accurate this is. I do notice an improvement in stools so it has to be delivering some benefit, but how much of that is this product?I am debating if I will continue to use this daily as I have a few other things I add to their food. If I observe a greater response as time progresses I will return and discuss how it is beneficial.
I have been giving to my Standard Poodle with gut and weight issues. He is very thin so I wanted to try this to see if he would eat more. He is very picky and cant digest food well. It is a simple to use powder on top of his homemade chicken and rice. He does not seem to notice a difference and consumes it well. Compared to other digestive enzymes I think it is reasonably priced. Is it effective? I dont know yet...I think I need more time to see if he gains weight and holds his food down. Its only been 3 weeks but he is burping less.
So, my cat has no problem eating this. I mix it into some wet food and she chows it down. The problem is that she vomits the next day.I’d originally decided to try this for her because she has some GI symptoms, and I thought the combo of psyllium fiber, slippery elm, probiotics, etc, would be helpful for her. It doesn’t seem to have any odor. So I was very hopeful, but it seems like the only things that helps cut down on the vomiting is a probiotic called Proviable. So now I have a jar with 80% of this left and no use for it.I can’t speak to effectiveness, value for money, or quality, because my cat can’t talk (yet), and she’s still showing increased symptoms since switching to using only this. Bummer.
